Care

Water, light, patience.

01

Water

Once a week, deeply. Let the pot drain fully—orchids hate wet feet. In winter, every ten days is plenty. Tap water is fine if you let it sit overnight.

02

Light

Bright, indirect. An east window is perfection; a south window needs a sheer. If the leaves are dark green, it's too dim. If they're yellow, too bright.

03

Feed

Half-strength orchid fertilizer every other watering, March through October. Skip a month if it's blooming—it's busy.

04

Rebloom

After the last bloom falls, cut the spike one node above the base. Move it somewhere ten degrees cooler at night. Wait. It will surprise you.
